'North South Contractors' and 'Cafe Pazinni' are the businesses where our trainees are provided with 6 to 12 months rehabilitation, training and appropriate qualifications to enter full employment.

Keeping Families Connected fosters relationships within families where a family member is suffering from mental illness, and a drug and alcohol problem. Education Keeping Families Connected (KFC) is a 5-week programme which: Supports and educates families to understand the family member from a new perspective. Offers education and training in the areas of mental health and drug and alcohol use, which include managing the mental health system. Works with families to find a balance between self care and responsibility. Offers a safe space with other carers in a similar situation.

The Carer Peer Support Project aims to lessen the confusion and stress for Carers who are caring for a person with a mental illness. Peer support workers who are, or have been Carers, offer Carers face to face information and referral services when they need to talk to someone about their experience. Workers are located at both the Psychiatric Services Unit (at The Canberra Hospital) and Ward 2N at Calvary Hospital.

Staying Afloat is run for family carers over 6 weekly sessions, and explores ways to manage the challenges and stresses in life. Session content will be flexible to meet the needs of the group, and may include stress management techniques, relaxation, sharing stories and ideas on coping, ways of living with some sadness and frustration, celebrating and developing our strengths, and communication skills.
