Lifelink Samaritans has been listening to and caring for lonely, distressed and suicidal people in the community since 1968. Trained and life-experienced befrienders give callers time to reflect on their troubles and re-order their priorities, discussing personal options which their deep seated worries had not previously allowed them to see. This vital and empathic service is provided freely, in confidence and without judgement or personal prejudice. Callers sometimes find family and friends are not able to cope and listen without imposing these on the discussion. and it can be safer and more empowering for YOU to speak with an independent listener at Lifelink Samaritans in your moments of confusion and great need.

Encore Program

This national program is registered by YWCA Australia wide auspiced in Tasmania by Hobart Women's Health Centre and sponsored by Avon. "Encore " is an exercise and support program that aims to help women: gain maximum mobility and flexibility in their arms and shoulders; improve their lymphatic system and help reduce the risk of lymphoedema; relieve ongoing discomfort some women experience as a result of axilla (lymph node surgery); renew self esteem and self image; create a positive and productive attitude to life. All sessions allow time for relaxation, information sharing and discussion, as well as informal talk, usually over light refreshments. "Encore" is led by trained staff who have satisfactorily completed the "Encore" training program.
