PADP provides a range of equipment, aids and appliances to enhance the independence of people with a disability, which is permanent or of indefinite duration. To be eligible people must be resident of NSW. Healthcare card holders take priority over higher income earners. Every PADP client is required to make $100 co-payment towards costs (but only once in a year). Low cost items, below $100, are not generally provided. These charges are used to purchase more equipment. Some higher income earners are required to make a payment of 20% of the cost of the item.
