The Community Dementia Team is a group of professionals who provide case management, assessment, information and direct care to clients with dementia who have complex needs and their families/carers in their own homes. The team will also refer to other agencies such as Day Centres, Linen Service and Home Care Care. Services provided include assessment, assistance with personal hygiene, medication monitoring/administration, socialisation, supervision of client safey, nutrition monitoring and strategies to asssist in managing difficult behaviours. The Team will apply to the Administration and Guardianship Board if the patient does not have the capacity to make an informed decision. Clients must have a diagnosed Dementia or Alzheimer's Disease or other related disorder and live in the greater Launceston area. The Community Dementia Team runs the Mayne Street Day Centre for people with dementia.

A specialist assessment and treatment service for children and adolescents with mental health disorders, including psychosis, suicide risk, major depression and mood disorders, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, severe emotional trauma, severe disruptive behaviour, attentional disorders, complex and severe relationship problems and chronic school refusal. Staff includes clinical psychologists , social workers, child psychiatrists, psychiatric registrars, a clinical nurse, childcare officer and admin. Pshychiatric registrars, clinical nurse specialist, occupational therapists, child care officer and administrative staff.

The Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS) provides specialist assessment and multidisciplinary treatment services targeted to high risk clients with severe mental illness referred from Community Corrections, the Courts, Parole Board, Risdon Prison Special Facility, Wilfred Lopez centre, mainstream Mental Health Services, private psychiatrists and general practitioners. Service provided: comprehensive mental health and psychosocial assessment and treatment; risk assessment and risk management; case management, including support, advocacy, mediation, liaison and referral; consultation and education; management of prescribed medication; assessment and advice to the Courts; Court Liaison Officer - Court based service which identifies and diverts persons who are mentally ill from the court system into appropriate mental health assessment and treatment services.

It seeks to ensure that people experiencing a mental health crisis within Tasmania's Southern Region receive the least restrictive and most appropriate form of mental health assessment and treatment services.

A service for children and younger people under 18 years who experience problems with behaviour or emotions- includes parents having problems with children this age group. Home visits for people with mobility disabilities may be arranged. It offers a multi- disciplinary approach to assessment, management and treatment of a wide range of emotional and behavioural problems affecting children, adolescents and their families, including temper tantrums and disobedience, timidity and fearfulness, compulsory or habitual behaviours, childhood psychiatric illnesses, Attention Deficit Disorders etc.
