Financial assistance may be available under this scheme for those Tasmanian residents who need to travel more than 75 kms to access specialist medical services in Tasmania or who need to travel interstate to access specialist medical services not available in Tasmania.Financial assistance may be available towards approved air, sea or road travel and some accommodation expenses. It is strongly advised to check with the local PTAS coordinator before making any arrangements or decisions.

Transport to treatment provides a range of transport options and travel assistance for Tasmanian cancer patients and their carers, where needed. An 11 seater bus service for cancer patients and their carers operates Monday to Friday from Burnie on the North West coast to the WP Holman Clinic in Launceston via Devonport and Deloraine. A suburban service is also available for patients who cannot use public transport, do not qualify for HACC services or live in areas where there is no alternative transport available.

A rebate of 50% of the cost of one adult return trip per financial year for aged residents travelling from Flinders Island to Northern Tasmania and return. Holders of an Age Pension Pensioner Concession Card issued by Centrelink or the DVA who are residents of Flinders Island.

Pensioner concession parking vouchers are available for people whom have a Centrelink pensioner concession card and are registered owners of a motor vehicle. Applicants are required to produce their concession card, along with their current vehicle registration papers before a booklet of vouchers will be issued. The vouchers enables a person to four hours free parking at any of the Hobart City Council car parks: one day per week, with an allowance of being able to use the vouchers four weeks in advance of the current numbered voucher. Hobart City Councils' car parks are currently offering the first hour free, so in effect the pensioner vouchers will give a person five hours free parking. To apply a person would be required to present their concession card and registration papers to the Customer service Centre, 16 Elizabeth Street ( the old Hydro building)
