Mobility Services for People with Vision Impairment

Guide Dogs Victoria provides services to increase the independence and mobility of people with vision impairment. Services are provided by teams of professionals supported by trained volunteers, and are available as short-term residential or domiciliary programs. Programs include provision of guide dogs; intensive orientation and mobility training, either as preparation for guide dog mobility or as stand-alone programs; primary school and secondary school children's mobility services including holiday camps; occupational therapy; pets as therapy, either visiting or as companion animals; and a acquired brain injuryl mobility service providing specialised training for people whose vision loss has been caused by stroke, head injury, brain tumour or other acquired brain injury.
