The Princess Alexandra Hospital Optometrical Services are for people living in the Brisbane South area. Clients go through a means testing officer and bring forms supplied by the participating optometrist. Optometrical services are available for people who have held a Centrelink pension card, a Seniors Card or a Health Care Card for a minimum of 6 months. (Service is also known as the Eligibility Testing Department). Through the QLD Spectacle Supply Scheme, concessions are given on the supply of standard spectacles when clinically required.

Retina Australia is a voluntary peer support organisation of State and Territory groups concerned with retinal degenerative diseases. The objective is to provide information and the opportunity of support to persons and families affected by retinitis pigmentosa and other retinal dystrophies and to raise funds to finance scientific research into the causes, prevention and cure of retinitis pigmentosa and other retinal dystrophies.

Low Vision Support Group

The Low Vision Support Group at Cleveland holds meetings on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, providing a relaxation centre for friendship, support, and to share stories and information. Morning tea supplied. Minimal fees apply.
