A centre based respite program for people with dementia. The days activities include reminiscence programs, music therapy & bus outings. Morning tea & a hot lunch are provided, transport to & from the centre can be arranged. Weekly Programs include: Mon - Ladies Day, Tues - Mens Day, Wed - Mixed Day, Thu - Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Day, Fri - Mixed Day, Sat - Younger Onset Group (under age of 65 years). Third wed of each month the Centre provides respite for clients (with dementia) while their carers attend a support group.

The Long Day Care Respite Service offers one day extended respite for working carers of the frail aged, including older people with dementia. Working carers can be defined as: carers who are employed in paid work; do voluntary work; or who are preparing to do work eg. undertaking a TAFE course. A diverse activity program is conducted at the Day Centre that is designed to meet individual needs. The Day Care Centre at Broughton House operates on a Monday to Friday and provides a secure, home-like atmosphere where people with mild to severe memory problems have freedom to move about and socialise in safety and comfort, while providing respite for carers. Activities are designed to stimulate interest without increasing confusion. Lunch is also included. A support group for carers of people with dementia also operates in Brougton on the Third Monday of each month, 1:30pm - 3:30pm. Aim is to support carers and to help avoid early institutionalisation for the person living with dementia. Co.As.It - Dementia Specific Respite Day care

The centre based daycare for those living with Dementia operates from 10.00am to 2.30pm every Wednesday. Participants are picked up from their home and returned by a local community transport bus or the Co.As.It minibus.
