The Commonwealth Carer Respite and Carelink Centre provides information support and advice to carers. The Toy Library is a centre and mobile outreach service; its specific focus is to provide educational toys to families who have a child with a disability. The library is staffed by a part time library assistant who will assist with in the selection of appropriate toys and learning equipment, using information provided by parents and professionals. The aim is to foster an understanding of the benefits of play and recreation through access to a variety of toys and equipment. The collection contains over 5000 items. Up to five toys can be borrowed at one time, for a period of one month unless otherwise negotiated. They also have resources for parenting. Siblings can also access toys and home deliveries can be organised for isolated families. Unpaid regular carers of the children can also borrow toys & resources.

Camp Breakaway Inc

Camp Breakaway organises Holiday Camps for people with disabilities, giving the client an opportunity to meet new people, encourage self reliance & independence, plus helps them become less conscious of their disability as well as allowing better understanding of their situation. Camps are staffed by volunteers, camps run for 7 day/three times a year - there is a current waiting list of 18 months - 2 years. Family respite camps are also held for families of children with high medical needs run over a long weekend twice a year. The Breakaway Lodge caters for 20 people. Meals & entertainment are included in cost. Organisations can also arrange camps for either a catered camp where Camp Breakaway provides the facility and meals only, or arrange to have a self-catered camp where Camp Breakaway provides the facility only.

Residents and visitors are individually matched to ensure that there are common interests and the process of befriending a resident makes a positive difference to both community visitor and resident. Residents and visitors are individually matched, ensuring close compatibility in personality, interests and backgrounds. Transport service is available within the township of Cootamundra and offers Taxi vouchers to eligible clients. The Taxi vouchers are to the value of $3.00 and valid in Cootamundra only. Health related transport is provided on "as needs" basis from the centre and the cost depends on the distance travelled. Health Related Transport service is for transportation to medical appointments or surgery. A weekly Bus service runs to Wagga Wagga on Weds at a cost of $15 return.

Junee Community Transport

Provides subsidised, community based not for profit transport service that operates a 12 seater bus with wheelchair access and a car. Service recruits volunteer drivers from the local community to transport people in Junee LGA to Medical Appointments, Shopping, Social visits or Outings. Taxi vouchers can be provided for home and community care clients for local transport. Up to 6 vouchers can be issued per month per person and are valued at $3.00 each.

The group is open to all people interested in transport especially trains. The volunteers gather to assist with the restoration of the museum and areas. Activities include handyman jobs, painting, building and equipment, restoring train carriages etc. The gathering includes morning and afternoon teas and participants are requested to bring their own lunch. A love of trains is not required, the only requirment is to have a good time and to socialise and to enjoy yourself. The Museum is open Mon, Tues, Wed 12pm-4.30pm and Sat, Sun & Public Holidays 9.30am-4.30pm

The Community Transport system endeavours to meet transport needs of Home and Community Care Clients (HACC) and other community members. Client needs to be registered with service and eligibility is determined by assessment. Non HACC Clients may travel with HACC Clients when a seat is available in the car for the same cost as HACC clients. If a non HACC Client books the car full cost of service is required unless it is for medical reasons. Clients who have difficulty in meeting the cost of transport should speak with the coordinator. NILS (r) Wagga Wagga

A new initiative in Wagga to assist people on low incomes to purchase essential household goods like fridges, washing machines, freezers or medical equipment such as nebulisers. NILS Wagga is a branch of a nationwide organisation that gives loans without interest or any other charges to approved applicants. Repayments are tailored to the ability of the person. Conditions include: low income, have lived in the area for at least 6 months in the same home and have no other debts. Not for emergency situations as it generally takes a month to process.
